100 guests need about 1,400 sq ft of covered space with this layout. A 30x60 tent gives you 1,800 sq ft.

    • 12 sq ft per guest for seated dining, round tables
    • 200 sq ft added for bar and buffet

These are planning estimates. Send us your venue and guest count and we'll confirm the fit before you pay anything.

    Tent sizing questions

What size tent do I need for 100 guests?

For 100 guests at round tables, plan on roughly 1,200 square feet, which is a 30x40 tent. For a standing cocktail reception, 100 guests fit comfortably under a 20x30. Add space if you also need a bar, buffet, dance floor, or stage.

What size tent do I need for 50 guests?

50 seated guests at round tables need about 600 square feet, which is a 20x30 tent. A 20x20 works for a standing reception of the same size.

How much extra space do I need for a dance floor or buffet?

Add about 100 square feet per 6-foot buffet table with a service line, 100 square feet for a bar, and 2 to 4 square feet per guest for a dance floor if you expect half the group dancing at once.

How many square feet per person for a tent?

Use 12 square feet per guest for round-table dining, 10 for long-table dining, 8 for ceremony seating, and 6 for a standing cocktail reception.

Can a tent be set up on concrete or pavement?

Yes. Tents that cannot be staked are ballasted with weights instead. Tell us the surface when you book so we bring the right anchoring for the site.

Do I need a bigger tent for Denver weather?

Not bigger, but plan for wind and afternoon storms. Frame tents handle Front Range wind better than pop-ups, and sidewalls are worth adding for evening events at altitude when temperatures drop fast.
